Name of the congress

Warm welcome to the second International Congress on Motion Sickness

The congress is held in collaboration with European Society for Clinical Evaluation of Balance Disorders.

Seafaring is an important part of the Icelander’s heritage and way of life, from navigating Vikings to the today fishing industry, that is one of the cornerstones of our economy. However, despite our familiarity with the sea, the burden of sea sickness and accidents at sea have always followed us.

Our congress will focus on advances in Motion Sickness sciences and will include invited plenary lectures, free presentations and poster sessions. This international meeting of those interested in the field, offers an excellent opportunity to exchange information on recent findings and advances in Motion Sickness research i.e., from its background to its social impact.

The theme of the congress is “Quantitative evaluation of Motion Sickness”.  This encompasses biosignal measurements, self-reporting and evaluation of symptoms patterns, and evaluation of countermeasures.  Further, it casts light upon the importance of integrating Motion Sickness pathophysiology to central nervous system disturbances.

Finaly, we would like to encourage participants to take time to experience the unique Icelandic nature, as well as enjoying some of the many cultural events, Iceland has to offer.

Welcome to Akureyri, 12th to 15th of August 2025!
